Terms and Conditions
Botanical Bump complementary therapy and aromatherapy blending workshops are run by an experienced and practising midwife. Whilst the workshops incorporate general pregnancy and birth information and advice drawing on midwifery expertise, experience and National guidance, the workshop leader is not insured outside of her NHS contract for clinical care and cannot under any circumstances provide any midwifery care or specific advice on individual pregnancies, conditions or plans of care. If you have any queries about your personal health or current pregnancy you must contact your midwife, GP or the maternity advice line.
Any complementary techniques taught at the workshops are ‘complementary’ to any medical or pregnancy advice or medication you have been given or prescribed by your care providers. You are strongly advised that you should not use any remedies or techniques taught as a substitute rather than an addition to your care providers recommendations. Any techniques or remedies taught should not be interpreted as medial advice or instruction.
Prior to the workshop you will be asked to complete a confidential medical and pregnancy questionnaire and must complete this to the best of your knowledge. This will then be carefully reviewed before the workshop by the facilitator to ensure that she does not expose you to anything that is potentially harmful to you or your baby. If you do not declare any known medical or pregnancy conditions the workshop facilitator cannot be held accountable if you become exposed to something that is contraindicated with your medical and pregnancy condition.
Botanical bump workshops have been designed to include complementary therapy techniques and remedies that are evidence based or documented with anecdotal evidence and no known negative consequences. However please be aware that rigorous research in the various complementary therapy methods and for use during pregnancy, labour and the period following birth is variable. You will be advised of this with each remedy or technique which is taught.
